44th Rozeboom Reunion - Sherman, TX
Hosted by Andy & Linda

December, 2017

Our 44th Family Reunion, Sherman, TX

After a few "false" starts, it was determined that we would have our Reunion in Sherman, TX, since Rocky and Esther had a brand new barn that needed to be broken in!  Boy, was that a fun experience!.  Rocky and Esther thought of everything and had things all stocked and organized for the group!  And what a barn...it had windows built in in one area so you could see outside; it had a full bath with a shower, and gobs and gobs of space with a dining table set up, and a great wood burning stove that we tended to congregate around, kind of in cycles.  As we got too warm, we moved away, and the next person stepped in to feel its warmth!  A great experience!

We arrived as we could on the first day and then had a great Barbeque dinner brought in by Skyler!!  What a trojan he was, both nights he delivered all this great food and we didn't have to do a thing.  We were totally spoiled by his kindness!  Then, Linda, appeared with a marvelously decorated cake with a cruise ship on top so we could all celebrate Andy's

upcoming 70th birthday, coming up on Jan 23, 2018!!  We all sang Happy Birthday to him, and he actually blew the one candle out on the first try!!  He is still so good at things like that! A few other cards and gifts showed up, including a "drone" from Rocky and Esther.  Andy did need some help with that thing!   It was great fun!!

The next day we had breakfast at the hotel and then started on a day trip to Canton, TX to visit Robert.  It was a nice, scenic drive to Canton, and we were able to visit Robert and Shirley, see David and Robin, and John and Linda Rozeboom and kids!!  Shirley had all kinds of food out for us to enjoy, and we did!!  After a long visit with Robert, we headed back to Sherman and again had a great meal in the new barn!  This time it was a fabulous Taco Bar!  Skyler did it again!!!

Then we had another surprise...this time for Vic and Bev.  We had taken one of their marvelous travel pictures from Spain and had it transferred to a piece of aluminum, the newest, hottest way to do pictures in this century!  So Andy and Esther told Vic and Bev to stand up, close their eyes, and then walked with them about 15 feet to Ruth holding their picture. They were then told to open their eyes to their "surprise"!  And they WERE surprised!!  It was great fun to see their mouths fall open!  Then, Vic Jr. and Mia also was in  on the surprise because I asked Mia to do a drawing on a card to place on the back, after everyone there signed it.

She agreed so we hope they enjoyed it!  You can see a picture of it hanging in their home in the pictures above.

Esther and Rocky fixed a great breakfast for us the next day, and we ate it in the barn and those who had to depart to meet planes or make other commitments, left to return home.

Thank you Andy & Linda and Esther and Rocky for setting it all up!  Our next Reunion will be hosted by Vic and Bev, time and place to be announced later this year!  Make your plans to attend now!!
