Our 42nd Reunion Canton, TX
This year's Rozeboom Reunion was our 42nd!! Rocky & Esther were the hosts in the home town of Robert & Shirley Rozeboom in Canton, TX. Rock & Esther had arranged not only a Bed & Breakfast that could hold us all but also delightful places to eat, eat, eat! Thank you SO much, Esther & Rocky!!!!
We stayed at the Azalea House B&B and were able to all gather there as we arrived. We had dinner that night at Val's Italian Restaurant on the Canton Square, one of Robert's favorite eating spots! Breakfast was served every morning in the B&B, making it so easy for the whole crew of approximately 22 folks.
On Monday, we toured the Plaza Museum on the Square, which was a delightful local History Museum full of local items, like a huge "bell" collection, old timey carriages, and many pictures of local spots through the years. We had lunch at "Buttermilk's" on the Square. Then, as a group we went to the nursing home to visit Robert.
The nursing home provided us a visiting room, and Robert came in to a whole bunch of people! The first thing he asked was "How did you all get here at the same time?" I think we surprised him a little! And David & Jackie were able to make it all the way from St. Louis, MO. You can see several pictures of us all talking to Robert in the slide show. After a long, fun visit with Robert, we had our evening meal at
Jalapeno Tree, a
new Mexican
restaurant on I-20. It was truly a wonderful experience as we had a large room for all of us to sit and visit in a very relaxed atmosphere. And the staff was great!
We had another great breakfast at the B&B and those who had to depart to meet planes took off, either before and after breakfast. The remainder of us had a wonderful free morning to visit and remember all the good Reunions from our past!
Thank you again, Esther & Rocky, for a great, happy time! Our next Reunion will be hosted by Curt and Ruth, time and place to be announced later this year!
