Our 41th Reunion in New Orleans, LA

This year's Rozeboom Reunion was our 41st!!  Vic and Bev were the hosts in historic New Orleans, LA.  I don't think the sights, sounds, and smells of New Orleans can be duplicated anywhere.  Vic and Bev did an outstanding job of organizing and keeping track of their 19 guests this year. Thank you SO much, Vic and Bev.!!!!  

Our first venture as a group was to have a traditional New Orleans dinner together at "Deanies", about 5 blocks from our hotel.  Dustin transported some of us "elderly folks" in his new SUV but most folks walked to a very busy Deanies.  Our table had plates full of "fried fish, oysters, and shrimp"; I must say our plates were piled high with fried stuff!  And it was delicious!

Monday morning, Vic and Bev had arranged a bus and guide for a tour of New Orleans.  It was very informative and interesting, especially since we got to tour the areas that were covered in water during the Katrina Hurricane, some houses showing water marks up 8 feet on the homes. And we saw several of the above ground cementeries, and heard some of the interesting stories connected to them.

Monday afternoon, folks could walk the area, visiting the French Quarters and other places of interest.  Monday night we had a hosted dinner at Cafe Adelaide.  Be sure to see the pictures of the menu and the room. Just an incredible place, and incredible food!  All hosted by Vic and Bev! What a treat we all had!

Tuesday folks started heading home.  Esther, Rocky and Ruth and Curt made it as far as Lindale, TX before spending the night.  We then drove to Canton, TX the next morning to visit with Robert and Shirley.  Be sure to see the slide show for pictures of them.  Robert walked 10 steps by himself, without his walker!  That was a wonderful accomplishment for him and a great surprise to us!  Way to go, Robert!
