Our 40th Reunion in Golden, CO
This year's Rozeboom Reunion was our 40th!! Andy and Linda were the hosts in beautiful Golden, CO! They did an outstanding job of hosting and making us all feel good about this special event. And Linda provided a gift basket in our rooms filled with products made in Colorado! What a treat that was (and still is!). Thank you SO much, Andy and Linda!!!!
Our first venture in Golden was a short (2 blocks) hike straight up hill to the Foothills Art Center. Artists from all over Colorado show their work here, and there were unique pieces one could not see other places. Plus I think the workers there were really glad to have visitors from Georgia, Missouri, California, Texas, and Oklahoma, as well as Colorado. We finished off the day with dinner at Table Mountain Grill & Cantina
in the Table Mountain Inn, only a block from our Dove Inn Bed & Breakfast.
The next day, we toured the Coors Brewery in the morning, which was also only about 2 1/2 blocks from Dove Inn. The Coors facilities covered about 5 acres situated over a very deep natural mountain spring, from which they pump the water used in their brewing! Coors has a deep commitment to recycling and about 99% of their by-products are sold and used to make other products. Almost no products go to land-fills.
In the afternoon we visited the Red Rocks Amphitheatre and had lunch there at the Ship Rock Grille. Then we drove up the Lookout mountain (seeing 5 deer and 2 elk along the road) to the Buffalo Bill Museum & Grave. Here we viewed quite an array of old items from the late 1800's and got to see some hand gliders as they soared above the mountains and city. These guys jumped off the high mountains and flew all
around in like 30 degree weather!
That evening we had our hosted dinner at The Briarwood Inn. The atmosphere was wonderful inside and the food was very plentiful and outstanding, as snow began to fall!! And then when the menu was delivered, it was a specialty menu for the "40th Rozeboom Reunion"! We each got a copy to take as a souvenir! Thank you Andy and Linda for making this dinner so very special. We are most grateful!
By the next morning we had about 3 inches of snow on the ground but then a miracle happened. Skyler and Layton went out and cleaned all of our cars off!!! All us "old folks" had to do is walk out and head for home. Thank you SO much Skyler and Layton!
A big hug and thank you again to Andy and Linda and Danny and Leslie!!! And a big thank you to Victor, Beverly, Andy, and Ruth for the great pictures.
Look what we saw in Kansas, a very "wild" state:
