Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 - Arrival Day
3:30 p.m. Meet at Hampton Inn Hotel (6431 Central City Blvd) for drive to Harbor
4:00 p.m. Dolphin Watch, Narrated Boat Tour with Captain Michael - 45 minutes - Cost: $10/adults; $5/kids (Weather Permitting) We suggest light jackets for water events.
ALTERNATIVE: "The Great Storm" Movie Of the 1900 Hurricane at Pier 21 Theatre (located right across the street). Cost: $5/adults; $4/kids
5:45 p.m. Dinner at Fisherman's Wharf on the Harbor (individual tickets)
7:00 p.m. Return to Hampton Inn Lobby for visiting. Any one under the age of 18 will have an opportunity to "earn" $50 to use for event costs in Galveston. Special items will also be distributed during this time. Be sure to show up for this meeting!
Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 - Fun Day
8:30 a.m. - Breakfast at Hampton Inn (included in hotel price)
10:00 a.m. - We have three alternatives for viewing Galveston's history; one of these will be arranged that day, depending on the weather conditions.
- Treasure Island Tour Train - A 2-hour, 17 miles narrated tour around the Island. $7/adults; $4/kids. (Weather Permitting) OR
- Duck Tour - 1 1/2 hour narrated tour - Cost: $14/adults; $7/kids. Includes views of Historic homes and business district architecture. (Weather Permitting)
- Railroad Museum Tour - 123 25 St., inside activity, $6/adults; $3/kids.
12:00 noon - Lunch at Salsa - Mexican Food (individual tickets). Located on the Seawall
1:30 - 5:30 p.m. - Visit Moody Gardens for the afternoon. Cost varies by activities. Please go to www.moodygardens.com to view the options. For those not inclined to view the Garden activities, the Lone Star Flight Museum is next door and contains the finest collections of restored aircraft and aviation exhibits in the nation.
5:00 - Drinks and Dinner at Moody Gardens (hosted event).
7:00 - Return to Hampton Inn Lobby for visiting.
Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 - Fun Day
9:00 a.m. - Breakfast at Hampton Inn (included in hotel price)
10:00 a.m. - Return to Harbor for one or all of the following:
- Tour of Tall Ship, Elissa Museum - $8/adults; $6/kids
- Stroll The Strand shopping district (about 7 blocks of unique shops and horse drawn carriages.
- Tour the Off-Shore Oil Rig (about 1 hr). $6/adults; $4/kids
12:00 noon - Lunch at Casey's on the Seawall, which has been in operation in Galveston for over 50 years.
1:00 p.m. - Beach Excursion/Shell Hunt - tennis shoes or flip-flops best. (Weather Permitting!)
